Not that I keep track, but I’m still pretty sure that among Clickmap and ExcelClient related questions, one of those I hear the most, is where to find / how to install the plugins. And judging from some of the search engine traffic hitting this blog, I’m not alone.

It’s not that Omniture is hiding the stuff, they just didn’t really make it easy to find the tools. In addition it’s difficult to explain to people while having them on the phone, well even standing next to people explaining, they often end up entering SiteCatalyst instead of unfolding the tools dropdown menu.

So for the sake of you people googling how to install Omniture Clickmap plugin or how to install Omniture ExcelClient this is how to do it.

Start by clicking on the little arrow like thing to the right on the SiteCatalyst button.
This will unfold the tools menu.

Now simply pick the tool that you want to install.

I am no usability expert, but I don’t think it would damage the overall usability if Omniture added a Tools button to the list of buttons, or perhaps made the list fully customizable, I would love to be able to place a Data Warehouse button there.
